Google indexed me in 6 days

I got indexed by Google in 6 days!!

This is nothing new as it is published all over the net. But in case you don’t yet know:

Don’t submit to Google to get indexed

This will take weeks as you will get stucked in the sandbox. Read CourtnetTuttle.com excellent article on this.

Here’s what I did:-

1. Add to feedreaders
I subscribed to my own blog’s feed using Google Reader and My Yahoo. For safe measures I also added my feed into Bloglines and www.google.com/ig

2. Comment on blogs
I went and commented on one PR4 and one PR2 websites. Although most blogs implement the No Follow tag, there’s no harm in getting a little traffic for my new blog. Of course it’s better to comment on Do Follow blogs if you can find them.

3. Posted on BloggingZoom.com
The only two articles that I came out with this blog is posted on Blogging Zoom. Since Blogging Zoom did mention about practicing some search engine friendly techniques to give traffic to blogs it was a good idea to use this site. Almost immediately I could see Google search results bringing up my article title (in Blogging Zoom). However the link was to Blogging Zoom and not my site (at least only for the first 5 days).

4. Register with Google Webmaster tools
I’m not sure whether it helped or not but I registered my site with Google Webmaster tools. Follow the steps to verify and add your site to Google Webmaster tools. You can see immediately from Googlebot’s point of view as soon as your site get’s indexed. Of course the first 5 days I kept seeing “You site has not been included yet”. This made me happy when I saw on the sixth day:-

I searched on Google for the term “pr0blogger” to confirm I’m indexed:

Of course getting indexed by the 2nd most popular search engine is also good:

There you have it. Four simple steps to get indexed fast.

Actually there is a 5th step which I forgot to do.

5. Get a higher Google PR3 or PR4 to link directly to you
These higher PR sites are usually indexed often by search engines so if you have a link back from them, it increases the chances of search bots coming over to index you too.

Wish I had done this. I think it would have shortened the 6 days wait time considerably.

Wow, congratulations! That’s pretty awesome. I don’t remember how long it took for me to get indexed. I’m not even sure if I counted.

Keep up the great work, and I zoomed your article. :)

Hi As a matter of fact it takes only 48 hours to get indexed on Google. I hope you know the secret to it. Feel free to ask me if you are unsure.

Or have you got any penalty from Google?

    Nice article!

    Cheers!
    Mani

Yes Mani. I’m a novice at this. How do you get indexed by Google in a mere 48 hours?

No I have not got any penalty from Google. This site is brand new. My other sites have not been penalised either. However I have many friends who have been penalised for doing PPP so I thought it would be fun to do a new blog from PR0 and learn how to cut short the learning curve for those in the same situation.

    PS: Thanks Tay!

Get your links on high traffic websites and you will get indexed faster.

There’s one more way, which is add your site to Technorati, make sure it pings it with new posts, and get somebody for fave you. :) I did it with one of my american idol blogs and was indexed within 2 or 3 days. I didn’t do it for my web hosting review website, but I should have.
